Sheila Schwartz is a seasoned professional with nearly 40 years of experience in the medical field. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy from Butler University and currently serves as the Chief Operating Officer and co-founder of BioPoly, LLC, where she is also a member of the Board of Directors.
In her role at BioPoly, Sheila oversees Manufacturing, Quality Management, and Regulatory Affairs, ensuring that critical systems and facilities are maintained to support the company’s operations. Additionally, she manages Human Resources and Accounting, applying her exceptional skills in problem-solving, capacity planning, risk assessment, and communication. Sheila’s adaptability and discipline enable her to execute the President/CEO’s vision with precision, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness.
Prior to joining BioPoly full-time in 2013, Sheila gained over a decade of management experience with Walgreens, where she was responsible for all aspects of running the Pharmacy Department at several Cincinnati locations. This experience in a highly regulated environment provided her with a deep understanding of FDA compliance, which seamlessly translated to her work in medical devices.
Sheila’s journey with BioPoly began in 2004 when the company was just taking shape. As the company’s first “angel” investor, she contributed financially to BioPoly’s early development while working as a Walgreens Pharmacist. Since transitioning to a full-time role, her responsibilities have grown significantly, and she has become the backbone of the company’s infrastructure.
Her unwavering dedication and drive continue to be instrumental in BioPoly’s success. Outside of work, Sheila cherishes spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She also enjoys entertaining friends and loved ones and finds fulfillment in studying the Bible.
